Closed Sessions Heads of the Heads (ft. Freddie Gibbs & GLC)
I always thought Freddie Gibbs was going to totally blow up at the same time as Odd Future. They share very little in common other than a pretty receptive audience normally associated with indie music (do not read: white), but when OF’s stock rose, the excellent Gibbs’ didn’t quite match the precocious LA collective, despite the pretty impressive Str8 Killa No Filla doing well critically and on the blogs.
Good to see Gangsta Gibbs is still keeping things tight though. In this collaboration with GLC and Chicago music collective Closed Sessions he’s sounding smoother than usual, over a N.E.R.D-esque galactic beat.
