Nous Aimons Picks…

Hey. Been away for a while with minimal internet/time, so I’m just going to round-up the new exciting things I’d like to recommend to you. That okay?

When in London I was assigned to write about a newbie artist who records from his bedroom under the name of Gross Magic. I love my work. The guy’s got a totally glam style, almost T-Rexish, but with a lo-fi aesthetic that sounds warm and poppy. You can hear The Sweetest Touch from his EP Teen Jamz here:

There’s a new track from Girls out. Sure, all the major websites have it anyway, but I’ve been lucky enough to hear the whole album, and Vomit isn’t even the best track on it. Fantastic and prolific band.

More Tuff Wax fire from Yoin, a track that was a prominent part of the Bones & Money dubplate mix I put up a while back. There was a Tuff Wax showcase (I missed) this Friday last: Aberdeen’s getting exciting again. Real exciting.

More Aberdeen stuff. Whatever, I’ve already talked about Dolfinz but this song is so good I can’t leave it out. It’s fairly recent anyway. Shut up.

Jay-Z and Kanye West put out a clip from their forthcoming Watch The Throne. It’s some brilliant sampling. This is the best either of these guys have been (Yeezy in a lyrical sense, his album was brilliant foremost for his production) on the mic for quite a while.

Then, I heard Black Milk and Jack White teamed up. Okay, it’s a while ago now but in the interest of quality, but in the interests of quality, click here…

More stuff soon.
